Apple launches new iTunes Match information page

Apple posts iTunes Match clarification website

Apple has created a new section on their website to give a better breakdown into how the new iTunes Match service works.

With iTunes in the Cloud, the music you buy from the iTunes Store automatically appears on all your devices.1 And for music you haven't purchased from iTunes, iTunes Match is the perfect solution. iTunes Match is built right into iTunes on your computer and the Music app on your iOS devices.2 It lets you store your entire collection in iCloud, even music you've imported from CDs or purchased somewhere other than iTunes. When it's in iCloud, it's available on all your devices. So you can enjoy all your music anywhere, anytime — on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, PC, or Apple TV.

Ally has already put together a great How To on getting started with iTunes Match, but in case we missed anything, it’s good to know that Apple has something setup that TiPb readers can fall back on. Check it out via the link below.

Apple's iPhone 4S Santa Siri ad was the most effective advertisement for the holiday season according to ad analysis company Ace Metrix.

Ace Metrix scores ads based on perceived effectiveness by a selection of randomly selected viewers, which it says are "representative of the U.S. TV viewing audience."

Apple's ad scored 652 points out of a total of 950 and beat other huge manufacturers like Coca Cola, Nintendo and Duracell. The ad shows Santa using Siri on an iPhone 4S to help him with his annual task of delivering presents all over the world.

Reminder: Apple’s 12 Days of Christmas app starts today, free iTunes content for Europe and Canada

Posted: 26 Dec 2011 03:09 AM PST

Apple has launched its 12 Days of Christmas app for the third year running. The app offers free content from iTunes for twelve days between December 26th and January 6th. Today you can access three live audio tracks and three live videos from Coldplay's recent appearance at the iTunes Festival in London earlier this year.

Each day between now and January 6th, when you open the app, new content will be available for free. Last year this included music, movies, books and apps. It is offered by Apple as an introduction for new iOS users to get to know how iTunes works and also as a thank you for existing users too.

Apple's 12 Days of Christmas is only available in Canada and most parts of Europe; strangely the United States is not part of the promotion. The app is compatible with the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation) and iPad.
