GoPano micro, a 360 degree lens that creates panoramic videos on iPhone 4 [video] Posted: 07 Apr 2011 03:19 PM PDT US developer eyesee360 is working on a lens that will allow iPhone 4 users to create video in a panoramic 360 degree format. The lens is in a prototype stage at the moment but it has not stopped them releasing a video showing what this accessory is capable of; it is well worth watching. The GoPano micro is a lens for the iPhone 4 to make 360º panoramic videos! Just snap the lens to your iPhone 4 and press record to make cool interactive 360º videos. Use it to record all the action of your favorite sport, record your next meeting in 360º or just as a fun toy for the summer. The lens uses similar technology to the company's "go pano plus" panoramic optics for digital camera, which utilizes an equiangular mirror composed of aluminum substrate to capture a complete panoramic image. The lens enables the iPhone 4 to record all angles at the same time but more importantly, playback the video and pan to different angles whilst watching. Eyesee360 are currently seeking support through Kickstarter to enable them to make this prototype into a mainstream product. Take a look at the video after the break. Would you use an accessory like this? Let us know in the comments!

Toys R Us gearing up to sell iPad 2? Posted: 07 Apr 2011 03:18 PM PDT Modmyi has received a tip that Toys R Us is currently training its employees on the features and benefits of the ipad 2. This training is obviously to assist its staff when they begin selling the iPad 2 in the very near future. The picture above is supposedly taken from the internal training documentation and shows the main features of the iPad 2 along with branding for Toys R Us. It is not the first time that Toys R Us has been rumored to be stocking the iPad. This time however it looks like it is going to happen. It does make a lot of sense for Apple to expand its retail exposure into Toys R Us. The iPad 2 offers a tremendous mix of quality gaming and education applications; which will appeal to parents and children alike! [modmyi] Toys R Us gearing up to sell iPad 2? is a story by TiPb. Clorox bleaches BlackBerry, goes 92% iPhone Posted: 07 Apr 2011 03:17 PM PDT Clorox used to give their employees BlackBerrys but when Ralph Loura took over as Chief Information Officer he decided to let employees choose their own smartphone and as a result, they’ve gone 92% iPhone. (They’re also piloting iPads.)
Apple has been talking a lot about enterprise in recent conference calls, citing impressive deployment and piloting numbers. This has always been BlackBerry (and Microsoft’s) strongest market and something HP will no doubt target with webOS. Is Apple already entrenching themselves in this non-consumer battleground? If you’re in enterprise, would this work where you work? [Computerworld, thanks Anthony!] Clorox bleaches BlackBerry, goes 92% iPhone is a story by TiPb. Want to get rich? There’s a jailbreak for that! Posted: 07 Apr 2011 12:43 PM PDT Kevin Lee, a student at George Mason University, claims he has made over $50,000 in one calendar year just offering jailbreak services to people. It began when he helped his friends and family members Jailbreak. Then word of mouth started getting him over 30-40 clients a week. Believe it or not, some people really don’t know they can just visit our TiPb jailbreak page or our TiPb Jailbreak forums and find guides and tutorials to help you do almost anything yourself (yes, that was a shameless plug). Since the Library of Congress granted jailbreaking an exception to the DMCA, it seems as if more users have been willing to give it a try. We also recently saw Toyota use jailbreak as a way to market their Scion brand. Jay Freeman (Saurik), creator of Cydia reportedly makes over $10M in annual revenue off the jailbreak community. As a hardcore advocate for jailbreak, I think it’s great to see others wanting to learn about jailbreak. Technology is driven by innovation and I firmly believe that the jailbreak community keeps Apple on its toes. I own a small business locally and we’ve recently been in talks about hosting jailbreak workshops and classes. I was incredibly surprised by the amount of people in our community that were interested. Any of you offer up your jailbreak skills for cash? Let us know in the comments! Want to get rich? Keru Pocket Pouch for iPhone 4 – accessory review Posted: 07 Apr 2011 10:22 AM PDT The Keru Pocket Pouch is for anyone looking for a slim, stylish pouch for iPhone 4. Its super trim form will fit nicely in your pocket and the designer print will make you look good. The biggest appeal of the Keru Pocket Pouch is how slim it is. Your iPhone will fit perfectly. So perfectly, in fact, that without the pull ribbon, it would be too difficult to remove your iPhone from the case. Only a small portion of the iPhone is exposed on the top, and the case hugs it in a way to prevent your iPhone from being bumped or removed by hand. Only about 1 inch of ribbon sticks out of the case for quick and easy removal. The exterior of the case is made from leather and is designed using a process that allows museum quality prints without sacrificing any of the performance. The interior is lined with a felt material that is mediocrely soft. I’m not worried about scratches, but it’s probably the least soft liner I’ve felt on a case. The Keru Pocket Pouch is available in five different designs (both girly and manly) from the TiPb Accessory Store.

iOS 4.3.2 coming in the next two weeks? Posted: 07 Apr 2011 08:55 AM PDT Boy Genius Report is hearing that Apple is planning to release iOS 4.3.2 for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad within the next two weeks.
BGR has been accurate in the past when reporting on iOS software update releases, so the possibility of Apple dropping iOS 4.3.2 in the near future is very much alive. We’re not sure what enhancements they’ve been told of, but the update will hopefully address WiFi and camera issues in iOS 4.3.1 and we’re crossing our fingers that Apple doesn’t fix the untethered jailbreak recently released by the Dev-Team. Are you looking forward to iOS 4.3.2? Let us know in the comments below! [BGR] iOS 4.3.2 coming in the next two weeks? is a story by TiPb. This feed is sponsored by The iPhone Blog Store. |

Purported iPhone 5 pics show bigger screen, tweaked antenna band Posted: 07 Apr 2011 06:36 AM PDT While iPhone 5 might only debut this fall, that apparently won’t stop the purported image leaks from Vietnam. If accurate — and that’s always a big if — the pics show a much smaller bezel which could be indicative of that larger, up to 4-inch display we’ve heard rumored before. Also, the black breaks are missing from above the volume controls, which either places some doubt on the veracity of the pictures, or indicates Apple may have done some work following iPhone 4 attenuation and de-tuning problems. A couple more pictures after the break. Check them out and let me know what you think — real, fake, or really fake? UPDATE: Fake as in fake fake. And the embarrassing part is I read some Chinese. Frak. [BiteYourApple via BGR]

Daily Tip: How to remove Spotlight search from your iPhone or iPad using NoSpot [Jailbreak] Posted: 06 Apr 2011 08:12 PM PDT Don’t use Spotlight on your iPhone very much and wondering how you can just remove the feature altogether? If you have a jailbroken iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad there’s a free and easy way to stop Spotlight from ever bothering you again, and we’re going to show you how after the break!
To remove Spotlight search go into Cydia and search for an app called NoSpot (free). What NoSpot does is removes Spotlight from your iPhone homescreen completely. I personally can’t recall the last time I actually used Spotlight for searching my iPhone or iPad, so this is a great way to stop it from always showing up when you swipe left or press the home button on the main home screen. Installing this extension will not put a new app icon on your springboard and won’t add any additional settings in the settings app. There are no options for this extension, it simply removes Spotlight search from ever showing up. Brilliant! Tips of the day will range from beginner-level 101 to advanced-level ninjary. If you already know this tip, keep the link handy as a quick way to help a friend. If you have a tip of your own you'd like to suggest, add them to the comments or send them in to dailytips@tipb.com.
