Apple Dropped in Market Share to 24% Posted: 16 Sep 2010 11:36 PM PDT ComScore, Inc., a leader in measuring the digital world, recently released its quarterly Mobile Subscriber Market Share, reporting key trends in the U.S. mobile phone industry from April 2010 to July 2010. The report ranked OEMs and OS platforms in the U.S. according to their share current mobile subscribers age 13 and older, and reviewed the most popular activities and content accessed via the subscriber's primary mobile phone. According to the report, 53.4 million people in the U.S. owned smartphones during the quarter, up 11 percent from the previous quarter. As for the top 5 platforms, RIM came to the first, dropped from 41.1% to 39.3%. The rest are Apple (dropped from 25.1% to 23.8%), Google (grew from 12.0% to 17.0%), Microsoft (dropped from 14.0% to 11.8%) and Palm (hovered at 4.9 percent). |
