Apple’s Looking Into Critical Security Flaws Posted: 04 Aug 2010 08:02 PM PDT French security firm Vupen posted an advisory about two critical security flaws in Apple’s iOS recently. These vulnerabilities are being exploited by jailbreakme.com, enabling users to unlock an iOS device and installing software independent of Apple’s moderated App Store. This is the first jailbreak that can take place on the device itself, and has been described as “scary” as well as “very beautiful work”. A hacker known as “comex” developed the current jailbreak exploit and claims to know other potential exploits for when the current one is patched. Apple stated that they are aware of the report and investigating it, according to Reuters. Maybe it will probably come up with a fix in due time. |
