White Verizon iPhone 4 icons show up in iTunes 10.2 Posted: 16 Mar 2011 10:29 AM PDT MacRumors says one of their readers did some digging through iTunes 10.2 and found that a white Verizon iPhone has been added to the previously existing white GSM (AT&T) iPhone 4 version.
Apple has previously said the white iPhone 4 would ship in Spring and recently Apple SVP of Marketing Phil Schiller repeated that timeline. No word yet on whether or not the flying unicorn wallpaper can be clearly seen in the icons… White Verizon iPhone 4 icons show up in iTunes 10.2 is a story by TiPb. Belkin headphone splitter – accessory review Posted: 16 Mar 2011 09:51 AM PDT The Belkin headphone splitter adapter is a great accessory to have on hand for long trips or nights at the coffee house. Its purpose is simple. It allows two people to plug their own headphones into the same device. This is great for a long flight where you and another person may want to watch the same movie on an iPad or iPhone. Click through for a quick review, pics, and a video!
Headphone splitters are a relatively cheap way to share media with someone else from one device. I’ve always found headphone splitters extremely useful on long car rides or flights. Two people can watch the same movie or listen to the same music off one device. This was always great when I was traveling with a friend who didn’t have an iPad or iPhone. Overall, I didn’t notice any sound quality reduction from using the splitter with the iPad or iPhone. I tried with just regular headphones and then with 2 pairs of headphones plugged into the splitter. This is an extremely cheap accessory that’s easy to place in a travel bag and forget about. It’s there when you need it. They are available in both black and white. You can pick one up from the Belkin headphone splitter adapter from the TiPb accessory store for $4.95 right now (that’s 75% off). Pros

iPad 2, Will it blend? [video] Posted: 16 Mar 2011 05:05 AM PDT The guys over a Blendtec have just released a video for the iPad 2 version of Will it blend? If you haven't seen these videos before, they basically involve a guy in a lab coat sticking an expensive item of tech in a blender. This one is hard to watch, especially if your still waiting to get your hands on an iPad 2, it's such a waste! This video is based around the iPad 2 Apple keynote, but still has the usual outcome. Check out the video after the break. [Blendtec]

Posted: 15 Mar 2011 09:18 PM PDT We’re back from flu enforced hiatus with an all new episode of TiPb TV featuring Apple’s all new iPad 2! There’s so much to cover we’re going to be breaking it up over several shows and fair warning — we’re going to be having fun with it. (If you want a more traditional look, go read our iPad 2 review.) This time around Rene and I take a look at iPad 2’s Apple A5 chipset and iOS 4.3’s JavaScript Nitro engine to see just how fast games like Infinity Blade can launch and websites like TiPb.com can render. Then we take FaceTime and the iPad 2’s “cameras” on the road for a full on tourist test at the local mall. And oh man your eyes may never recover! (In case you’re curious, we used iPhone 4’s Wi-Fi personal hotspot to connect iPad 2 to FaceTime over 3G which makes no sense but worked well.) Watch along with us above and then let us know what you think — is the web and app speed worth the upgrade? Are the cameras good enough to use in a pinch?

Daily Tip: How to connect your iPad to iPhone personal hotspot Posted: 15 Mar 2011 08:10 PM PDT Curious how to connect your iPad, new iPad 2, or even an iPod touch to iPhone personal hotspot? Thanks to iOS 4.3 (or iOS 4.2.6 on the Verizon iPhone) if you have a tethering plan you can save $130 on an iPad 3G, get an iPad Wi-Fi, and jump on the internet pretty much anywhere you want. We’ll show you how after the break!
iOS 4..2.6 and iOS 4.3 lets iPhone 4 act as a Wi-Fi personal hotspot. In other words, it turns it into a tiny internet access point and mobile router. You can connect up to 3 devices to an AT&T/GSM iPhone and 5 devices to a Verizon iPhone — including the iPad. Here’s how:
A small, distinctive interlink icon will show up instead of the usual Wi-Fi icon at the top left of the menu bar and you’ll know you’re connected. Just keep an eye on your iPhone 4 battery life and, if you have a data cap, your Tethered Data usage! Bonus Tip: You can also connect one iPad or iPad 2 via Bluetooth. Just go to Settings: General: Bluetooth on your iPad and pair with your iPhone! Bonus Tip 2: You can use this method for FaceTime over 3G because personal hotspot is treated as a Wi-Fi connection. (Yes, it makes no sense but it works.) Tips of the day will range from beginner-level 101 to advanced-level ninjary. If you already know this tip, keep the link handy as a quick way to help a friend. If you have a tip of your own you’d like to suggest, add them to the comments or send them in to dailytips@tipb.com. (If it’s especially awesome and previously unknown to us, we’ll even give ya a reward…) Daily Tip: How to connect your iPad to iPhone personal hotspot is a story by TiPb.
