Apple has supplied a new option to restrict multiplayer games in developing builds of iOS 4.1, which means that the new Game Center is going to launch officially for consumers.

This new option comes under the “Restrictions” section in Settings. It enables companies (or parents) to turn off options for their employees (or children). Current options include turning off access to Safari or YouTube, the device camera or location services, and disabling iTunes content including in-app purchases, or setting a given rating threshold for music, podcasts, TV, movies and software. It is likely that Game Center will ship the final release of iOS 4.1 for iPhone and iPod touch, which is going to be released in September/October. Besides, apple is also introducing an update for iOS 4.x features to iPad.
