Facebook for iPhone 3.2.2 — Login fixed? Posted: 23 Aug 2010 02:13 PM PDT Facebook promised a fix for ailing iPhone users and here it (apparently is) — Facebook for iPhone 3.2.2. They claim it fixes the login issue, which seems to have been primarily caused by conflicts with some Jailbreak apps. We’ll let you be the judges of that, however. Working now? Case-Mate Barely There Chrome Case for iPhone 4 – accessory review Posted: 23 Aug 2010 06:59 AM PDT The Case-Mate Barely There Chrome Case for iPhone 4 is just stunningly beautiful. If you’ve been following me on Twitter you know it’s my new favorite iPhone 4 case and considering how long I used the Case-Mate Barely There Chrome Case for my iPhone 3G it’s likely to remain so for a long time to come. But looks and personal preferences aren’t everything — hard to believe, I know! — so check out the video above and keep reading after the jump to see how it performs.
Case-Mate Barely There Chrome Case for iPhone 4 is easy to put on. Just slide it in volume control side first and press it down into place. Once safe and secure, you still have access to all the buttons and ports and it’s cut generously enough around the dock that most 3rd party cables should have no problem fitting in. Thin and smooth around the sides it doesn’t do anything to help your grip but it doesn’t hurt it much either. If you’re worried about the infamous death-touch, yes it prevents that problem in weak signal areas. The build quality is fantastic. The edges are smooth and well-finished and perfectly tapered so you can run your finger freely across the screen without bumping into them. Because it’s a slim case, while it will prevent your iPhone 4 from getting bumps and scrapes it probably won’t do much to protect it from high impact drops. The Case-Mate Barely There Chrome Case for iPhone 4 includes a mirrored screen protector. It looks beautiful when the screen is off but does darken it and shift colors slightly towards the blue spectrum when the screen is on, which is something the iPhone 3G/3GS version didn’t do. If it bothers you, don’t use it. Overall the Case-Mate Barely There Chrome Case for iPhone 4, available from the TiPb iPhone 4 accessory store, is just gorgeous and very, very classy looking. I’d recommend it to anyone who doesn’t need a higher level of protection. If you want your iPhone 4 to look great and attract attention this is absolutely the hottest case on the market at the moment. I absolutely love it.

Acer: iPad market share will drop from 100% to 20% Posted: 23 Aug 2010 06:11 AM PDT Acer chairman JT Wang, thinks that the iPad will drop from its current near 100% market share to somewhere around 20% or 30%. Like Asus, Acer’s netbook business is feeling the pain of Apple’s entry into the “third device category” with iPad. Since Apple is pretty much alone in that space right now — despite a 10 year Tablet PC head start we should point out — any form of real competition will begin splitting the market. The question is will Acer, Asus, and the like compete the same way they’ve chose to with netbooks — using ultra cheap, near zero-margin processors, operating systems, and commodity parts to grab tons of market share and leave the profit share for Apple, or will they try to go toe-to-toe with Cupertino on user experience and hardware? Will the “pad” market end up being more like laptops, with netbooks on one end and MacBooks on the other, or more like smartphones where Apple, HTC, Motorola, and others all battle it out to be the best? iDygest for iPhone – app review Posted: 23 Aug 2010 05:58 AM PDT iDygest is just what it sounds like — an app that will congregate all feeds Apple into one sleek timeline for you to browse through. I know I have quite a few iRelated websites that I browse through everyday, I’ve even got an Apple group in Google Reader that syncs with my RSS app on my phone. But lately I’ve found myself opening up iDygest if I just want to see a quick highlight of what’s been going on the world of all things Apple.
When first launching iDygest, the app will populate the latest Apple feeds into the first tab. You can then browse through those or choose to look at top stories. You can also search for Apple news. The app really seems to catch a lot of the same Apple news you’ll get from browsing 5 different sites. One obvious advantage to this app is when browsing through, you don’t get double-posts as the app uses an algorithm to pull stories, it isn’t random. I have several Apple sites in my RSS feed and one thing I see is duplicate stories (which we all know will happen when you’re browsing news sites). This somewhat solves that problem by only pulling in the same story one time. At least I haven’t run into duplicates as of yet. One down side I have noticed is the search feature doesn’t seem to be that accurate. It definitely won’t completely replace your RSS app (unless all you do is skim iNews and nothing more). There were few times I saw stories stories we had posted as well as other sites, but they still never made it into iDygest. For the most part, they were little things that maybe iDygest’s algorithms won’t pick up on. Either way – if you want a way to quickly browse through iNews, this is a more than decent solution. Pros
