It’s filled with hyperbole, but it’s also filled with terrific little details. Check it out after the break!

iPhone 4 vs Droid Incredible vs Android Evo 4G vs Nexus One tech specs

Posted: 07 Jun 2010 01:07 PM PDT

iPhone 4 vs Droid Incredible vs Android Evo 4G vs Nexus One tech specs We’ve once again taken our good buddy Phil Nickinson’s Android Central tech spec sheet featuring the Droid Incredible, Evo 4G, and Nexus One, and added in Apple’s just-announced iPhone 4 and we gotta tell ya — smartphones have never been this good. Everyone is firing on all cylinders these days and from the highly polished package that is Apple’s latest iPhone 4 to the power and diversity of Google’s Android platform, consumers are the true winners.

For those of you who love your spec porn, there it is up top, and we’re honestly beginning to wonder — what could they possibly do next? (Besides mind-control, of course).

So how about it US TiPb faithful, will this help soften the blow of those new tiered, capped data rates?

Apple introduces FaceTime video calling — iPhone 4 to iPhone 4 [updated with video]

iPhone 4 FaceTime video calling iChat

Steve Jobs brought back a doozy of a “One more thing…” for his WWDC 2010 keynote today — the awkwardly named but awesome-looking FaceTime video calling for iPhone 4.

Apple says it requires zero setup, works landscape or portrait, front or back camera, and supports h.264, AAC, SIP, STUN. It’s Wi-Fi only in 2010 but they’re working with carriers to support it over 3G in the future.

Update: Video after the break!

iPhone OS 4 is now iOS 4, coming June 21

iOS 4 for iPhone

As part of the iPhone 4 introduction today at WWDC 2010, Apple’s Steve Jobs announced a name change for the operating system that powers an increasing number of their mobile devices — goodbye iPhone OS, hello iOS. And it’s coming June 21.

Base features are what we saw at the sneak peak event — and have detailed in way too much detail already in our walkthrough — except for the FaceTime (i.e. video chat/calling) feature.

GDGT says cisco owns that trademark, much like they owned iPhone in 2007. It looks a bit weird to me still, and I’m fairly sure the iMac isn’t running it, so it will take some getting used to. For Apple to use iPhone 4 for the phone name, however, they needed something more distinct for the OS.

Apple announces iMovie for iPhone

Posted: 07 Jun 2010 11:09 AM PDT

As part of the iPhone 4 introduction during WWDC 2010, Steve Jobs announced iMovie for iPhone, with one-click sharing. This is basically iMovie from the iLife suite for Mac brought to the iPhone. Up to 720p editing and most of the functionality you’d expect, including transitions and Ken Burns effects.

Make beautiful HD movies anywhere with iMovie, the fun, feature-rich video editing app that's designed for iPhone 4. Create a video postcard of your day at the beach and publish it to the web without leaving your spot on the sand. Or make a movie of your child's birthday party and send it to your parents while the party is in full swing. You can start several projects on your iPhone 4 and finish them whenever you want and wherever you are.

It will be in the App Store for $4.99
